Academy builds academic skills and student confidence through a blended learning approach that combines educational software with personalized, live teaching. This is a fun, part-time role where you can make a meaningful difference for students in your community—while working with supportive staff, receiving paid training, and having opportunities for advancement. Position Summary The In-Person Tutor supports elementary and/or middle school students in Phonics and English Reading in an on-campus, after-school setting. You will use TUTORWORKS' curriculum to teach small group lessons in reading and motivate students to stay engaged, on-task, and successful. This role requires a working knowledge of basic teaching pedagogy and technology troubleshooting skills along with strong relationship-building and classroom management skills. Required Qualifications Two years' experience working with elementary and/or middle school age students, including experience teaching, tutoring or working in youth programs. High school diploma and a degree from (or current enrollment in) an accredited two- or four-year college institution. Comfort navigating digital platforms (chat, text messaging, video conferencing). Strong technology skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and familiarity using Chromebooks and Apple devices . Ability to troubleshoot common tech issues (internet/computer/videoconferencing). Strong writing skills (grammar and spelling). Ability to work independently, manage time well, and perform in a fast-paced, high-expectations environment. Fingerprint clearance required (and TB clearance for onsite work). Must provide reliable transportation to and from the school site. Desired Qualifications Prior experience managing groups of students in a classroom setting. Prior tutoring experience in English Language Arts (small group or whole group). Spanish bilingual (spoken and written) a plus. Job Duties and Expectations Under the supervision of the Team Manager/Director of Instruction, you will: Provide direct instruction to small groups of students using TUTORWORKS' curriculum. Support students to log on, access learning platforms, and complete learning activities. Troubleshoot student technology and connectivity issues during program time. Maintain a positive, motivating learning environment; monitor participation and keep students engaged. Record and monitor student progress and data as instructed (attendance, pre/post test data, progress reports, learning plans). Respond promptly to messages from
