Tutor-Elementary, K-5th Grade Bay Area Tutoring Association San Jose, CA Job Details Part-time From $19 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications Teaching math Working with children Bachelor's degree Student support Classroom experience Full Job Description Tutor-Elementary, K-5th Grade San Jose, CA Join Our Team as an Academic Tutor Bay Area Tutoring Association (BATA) is seeking dedicated Academic Tutors to support elementary students in literacy and math through structured small-group instruction and targeted academic intervention. This is a great opportunity for individuals passionate about education, child development, and making a direct impact in elementary school classrooms.
Position Details Start Date:
Only for the month of May 2026 (Seasonal Position)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 5:00
PM Daily Shift:
3 hours in a tutoring lab setting

Rocketship Sí Se Puede Elementary School 2249 Dobern Ave, San Jose, CA 95116 Position Overview Academic Tutors work alongside educators to support student learning in a structured after-school tutoring environment. Tutors help students build foundational skills, stay engaged in learning, and receive targeted academic support in reading and math. Key Responsibilities Motivate students and encourage active participation in learning activities Maintain a positive, structured, and safe learning environment Reinforce school-wide behavior expectations and safety guidelines Support students in small-group tutoring sessions (literacy and/or math) Implement curriculum aligned with student learning needs and intervention goals Monitor student progress through assessments and data tracking Communicate student progress with teachers and support staff Collaborate with grade-level teams and participate in staff development Qualifications Strong commitment to student success and educational equity Passion for working with elementary-aged students Prior experience working with children (preferred) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with diverse staff and student populations Comfort using data to support student learning and progress Bachelor's degree preferred but not required Requirements Completion of BATA onboarding, including: DOJ Live Scan background check Online training TB clearance Bay Area Tutoring Association is an equal opportunity employer.
