SUMMER Reading Tutor for PRIDE Learning Co.

Summer In-Home Intensive (IHI) Reading Tutor (2 hours daily for 6 weeks)

Rate:

$35 per hour

SUMMER Schedule:

Mon-Fri from 9-11am from June 8th through July 17th

SCHOOL Schedule:

School year hours will be 2-3 hours per week; 1 hour lessons

We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and reliable tutor to join our team teaching in-home lessons in San Mateo, CA 94401 for both Summer and continuing in the

School Year Ideal Candidate:

Ready to be trained to implement our multisensory reading program Experience working with school-age students and a passion for teaching Ability to create and maintain a positive and engaging learning environment Strong rapport-building skills with students Comfortable using electronic devices, such as a laptop, for lessons Excellent communication skills, with an ability to motivate students Able to commute to the student's location in San Mateo, CA 94401 Committed to establishing and maintaining a long-term professional tutoring relationship with the student

Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 individualized tutoring sessions focused on enhancing students' reading and literacy skills Follow scripted lesson plans tailored to each student's needs, covering phonics, spelling, fluency, comprehension, and writing Use PRIDE's learning technologies and resources to enhance instruction Manage session time effectively, ensuring a positive and focused learning environment Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs, including those with special education requirements Must be proactive in maintaining prompt and consistent communication with PRIDE staff to discuss student progress, challenges, and any necessary adjustments to the tutoring plan

Qualifications:

Experience as an instructional assistant, ABA therapist, paraprofessional, teacher, substitute teacher, graduate student in education, or speech therapist assistant is a plus Must have access to an electronic device (such as a laptop) for conducting lessons How to
