SEL Workforce Prep Basic Functions Santa Barbara City College - is seeking PT faculty for Tutor training and Supervision at the School of Extended Learning. Provide in-person line of sight supervision for tutors working in-person in the SBCC Tutoring Commons and also simultaneously for tutors working remotely. Provide training and mentorship to working tutors in real time. Monitor data collection and provide support and accountability to tutors around the collection of data. Days/hours vary according to when the tutoring center is open. The starting noncredit adjunct rate from salary table 25 is $63.45 per hour-Lecture and $47.59 per hour-Lab. If you have an advanced degree, the rate is $66.15 per hour-Lecture and $49.61 per hour-Lab. Representative Duties As our own research has shown, tutoring significantly improves student success at SBCC. This position provides support and accountability to tutors, thereby making tutoring possible. It also improves operations at the college because it makes it possible for us to have a sustainable tutoring budget through the collection of Apportionment for tutoring. Education and Experience Any master's degree level discipline in which learning assistance or tutoring is provided at the college where the coordinator is employed; OR A master's degree in education, educational psychology, or instructional psychology, or other master's degree with emphasis in adult learning theory Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrate sensitivity in working with students of diverse racial, ethnic, linguistic, academic and socio-economic backgrounds, sexual orientation, and disabilities.
