After School Academic Tutor IQ Tutorial Center Torrance, CA Job Details Part-time $18 - $20 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Some college Experience teaching math Basic math English Working with students Full Job Description About Us IQ Tutorial Center is an after-school program specializing in English, Math, and homework support. We are seeking a dedicated and patient tutor to join our after school program. This position requires someone who truly enjoys working with younger children, can guide them with care and consistency, and brings positive energy into the classroom. Responsibilities Carefully review students' homework for completeness and accuracy, making sure no questions are skipped and all corrections are completed Supervise and support students with homework and learning activities Teach foundational English and Math skills using our curriculum (phonics, reading comprehension, simple writing, and basic math) Encourage good study habits and focus through patience and positive reinforcement Communicate effectively with staff and maintain a structured, nurturing classroom Qualifications Currently attending or graduated from a college/university or graduate program Must love working with young children and have high patience and strong responsibility Detail-oriented and committed to checking students' work carefully and thoroughly Reliable and consistent (attendance and punctuality are essential) Prior teaching/tutoring or childcare experience preferred Organized, caring, and able to commit long-term Must live near or be able to commute easily to Torrance Why Join Us?
