Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and engaging Intensive Reading Tutor to support students in developing their literacy skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, experience working with children, and expertise in curriculum development and learning technology. This role involves creating personalized lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and helping students improve their reading comprehension and fluency. Fluency in English is required to support diverse student needs. The tutor will work closely with students of various ages, including early childhood and preschool levels, to promote literacy education and classroom success. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one reading tutoring using provided materials such as O-G/Barton and if provided, school materials. Assess student needs and tailor instruction accordingly Follow engaging lesson plans and track student progress Provide constructive feedback and communicate with families and teachers Experience Prior experience working with children across various age groups, including early childhood education and preschool experience. Demonstrated expertise in literacy education, lesson planning, and curriculum development. Familiarity with learning technology platforms used for educational and business purposes. Background in special education or experience working with students with diverse learning needs is highly desirable. Proven ability to develop engaging instructional materials and adapt teaching methods for different learning styles. Additional Information Prior experience with K-8 reading required Preferred availability: 12pm - 8:00 PM (4-10 hours/week) 1099 Independent Contractor (LLC encouraged, not required) Background check required if not currently licensed Licensed or formerly licensed teachers and substitutes are highly encouraged to apply.
