9:15am � 2:30pm (28.75 hours per week, 5.75 per day-excluding 30-minute unpaid lunch)

As a tutor working less than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible for various benefits including paid sick time, paid personal days, paid holiday, and retirement benefits. Please note there are no healthcare, life insurance, or disability benefits associated with this position. This position is affiliated with the secretary / clerical / paraeducator / tutor union and will be eligible for all terms and conditions of employment for tutors as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. Highcrest Elementary School has an opening for a Tutor. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated professional with superior communication skills to provide student intervention support for the remainder of the 2026-2027 academic year.
Responsibilities:
Implement daily lesson plans for students targeting individualized support; Work directly with students to provide targeted one-on-one/small group instruction or push into classrooms; Provide students with positive feedback and encouragement; Support student understanding of math concepts and demonstration of math fluency skills; Track and maintain records of student progress; Collaborate with classroom teachers to communicate goals/achievements, progress, student challenges, and changes in interventions; Foster a positive learning environment that is sensitive to student needs and promotes increased math/learning performance; Provide building curriculum specialists with regular reports of student progress toward learning goals.
Qualifications:
Hold a minimum of an Associates' Degree; Elementary Teacher certification is preferred, but not required; Enthusiasm for helping children; Respectful attitude; Ability to manage plans and drive positive results; Patience; Flexibility and adaptability.
