Job Summary Join our dynamic Hockey Academy as a Classroom Tutor dedicated to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for young athletes. In this role, you will support students academically while integrating their passion for hockey into their educational experience. Your enthusiasm, instructional expertise, and adaptability will help students excel both on and off the ice, ensuring they develop essential skills in a supportive setting. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to combine sports mentorship with educational guidance, making a meaningful impact on students' academic and personal growth. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and incorporate hockey-related themes to motivate students Provide individualized tutoring in core subjects such as mathematics, English language arts, science, and social studies, tailoring approaches to diverse learning styles Utilize various learning technologies to enhance instruction and facilitate online learning sessions when needed Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students' unique needs, including those with special education requirements or different cultural backgrounds Support students' academic progress through regular assessments, feedback, and goal-setting strategies Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners Collaborate with coaches, parents, and other staff members to ensure a holistic approach to student development and success Skills Strong background in curriculum development and lesson planning across multiple subjects Proficiency with learning technology tools and online instruction platforms Experience tutoring in mathematics, science, English language arts, or SAT preparation Excellent communication skills for working with students of varying ages and backgrounds Ability to adapt instructional strategies based on individual learning styles and needs Demonstrated classroom management skills and experience working with children or young adults Knowledge of special education practices and experience supporting diverse learners Passion for mentoring youth through sports and education combined with a proactive attitude toward student engagement Effective written skills for documenting progress and communicating with parents or guardians Experience working in educational settings such as classrooms, preschools, or adult education programs This paid role is ideal for energetic educators who thrive on inspiring students both academically and athletically.
