Job Description

Seeking tutors with experience to work with students after school Monday through Thursday from 3 pm to 7 pm. Also seeking tutors available during the day time to assist adult students who are studying for the GED.
Duties:
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in various subjects and grade levels
  • Assess students' academic needs and develop personalized lesson plans to address their specific areas of improvement
  • Utilize effective teaching strategies and resources to enhance students' understanding and engagement
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents/guardians
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other educational professionals to support students' learning goals
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special needs or learning disabilities
Skills:
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents/guardians, and other educational professionals
  • Excellent organizational skills to plan sessions and track student progress
  • Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success
  • Flexibility and adaptability to adjust teaching methods based on individual student needs and learning styles
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed academically
Note:
Experience working with children in early childhood education, adult education, or special education settings is highly desirable. Experience tutoring or teaching required.
