City Year is seeking an Academic Tutor to support students' academic and social-emotional growth in partner public schools. In this full-time role, you will provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring in core subjects, track student progress, and collaborate with teachers to align support with classroom instruction. You will serve as a mentor and positive role model, helping students build confidence, set goals, and develop effective learning habits. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one and small-group academic tutoring in core subjects Support teachers with classroom activities and lesson implementation Mentor students to build confidence, engagement, and social-emotional skills Monitor and track student progress and participation Communicate regularly with school staff about student needs and goals Help plan and facilitate enrichment or after-school programs Model positive behavior and uphold a safe, inclusive learning environment Participate in training, coaching, and team meetings Assist with family or school events as needed Required Skills Tutoring in reading and writing Tutoring in math Classroom support techniques Student progress monitoring and documentation Basic data entry and use of spreadsheets Youth mentoring and relationship-building Behavior management strategies Lesson and activity facilitation Time management and organization Clear verbal and written communication
