Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Reading Tutor to join our educational team to support elementary and middle school students with reading needs in an individual or small group setting. We ask that applicants have availability for after school sessions at least 2 days per week. Candidates should have a strong background in teaching reading and be willing to be trained in the Orton Gillingham approach. Please note, this is a 1099 contract position and hours cannot be guaranteed.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Strong background in teaching reading is required. Orton Gillingham training or an interest in pursuing training is needed. Plan effectively for each session with the targeted goal of student growth. Provide tutoring and additional support to students as needed. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student performance and needs. Proven experience in classroom management and lesson planning is essential. Familiarity with curriculum development and educational standards is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
