Based on qualifications and experience About the Role Greater Vision Preparatory Academy is seeking a Florida-certified Tutoring & Educational Specialist to provide individualized instruction, implement curriculum, and support measurable academic growth. The ideal candidate can assess student needs, create purposeful lessons, recognize learning gaps early, and adjust instruction based on results. This role requires strong teaching skills, patience, initiative, organization, and consistent follow-through. Responsibilities Provide individual and small-group instruction in assigned subjects, including reading, writing, and mathematics. Implement the Academy's curriculum and prepare engaging lessons with clear learning objectives. Assess students' current skills and develop individualized learning goals. Adapt teaching methods, materials, and pacing to support different learning needs. Address learning gaps through targeted instruction and monitor the effectiveness of interventions. Support homework, projects, test preparation, and study habits while building understanding and independence. Track academic performance and maintain organized instructional and progress records. Evaluate curriculum effectiveness and recommend improvements supported by student work and assessment results. Communicate progress, concerns, and recommended next steps to Academy leadership and authorized parents or guardians. Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment. Required Qualifications Active, current teaching certification and applicable educator credentials issued by the State of Florida. Credentials must be appropriate to the assigned subjects and grade levels and maintained throughout employment. Experience in teaching, tutoring, academic intervention, or comparable educational work. Strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly. Ability to prepare lesson plans, assess understanding, and tailor instruction to individual students. Strong organizational, communication, and educational technology skills. Dependability, sound judgment, and initiative while following Academy direction. Ability to complete required background screening. Experience with curriculum implementation, differentiated instruction, and individualized learning plans is preferred. Early-career educators who meet the required Florida certification requirements are encouraged to apply.
