In this role, you will deliver engaging, personalized instruction tailored to diverse learning needs, fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates Deaf culture and promotes effective communication. Whether working with children or adults, you'll inspire learners to achieve their language goals while developing their confidence and independence. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive ASL curriculum plans that align with learners' goals and proficiency levels Deliver engaging lessons using various learning technologies and interactive methods to enhance understanding and retention Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate students with special education needs or diverse learning styles Manage classroom dynamics effectively, ensuring a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback Collaborate with parents, caregivers, or educational teams to support student development and address individual needs Incorporate cultural elements of Deaf communities into lessons to enrich the learning experience Experience Proven experience in teaching or tutoring ASL, with a strong understanding of curriculum development and lesson planning Familiarity with learning technology tools used in language instruction and literacy education Prior classroom management experience, especially working with children or in early childhood education settings Knowledge of special education practices and accommodations for students with diverse needs Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL), with additional language skills such as Mandarin, French, Japanese, or English considered a plus Experience working with students of various age groups, including preschoolers and early childhood learners Strong writing skills for creating instructional materials and progress reports Join us in shaping the future of accessible communication!
