Key Responsibilities:
Provide in-person, one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to the student's academic goals Deliver instruction in Algebra and High School Placement Test (HSPT) preparation Strengthen algebraic reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and mathematical fluency Support the development of effective test-taking strategies, time management skills, and exam readiness Utilize engaging and individualized teaching methods based on the student's learning needs and progress Prepare and implement lesson materials, practice assessments, and supplemental learning resources Monitor student performance and adjust instruction as needed to promote academic growth Foster a positive, structured, and encouraging learning environment Travel to and conduct sessions at the assigned tutoring location in West Palm Beach, FL Communicate regularly with the coordinator regarding student progress, attendance, and scheduling updates Commit to approximately 3 hours of tutoring per week
Schedule:
3 hrs/week Weekday afternoons or evenings preferred Occasional Saturday availability
Qualifications:
Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or academic support services Strong background in Algebra and middle school mathematics Experience with standardized test preparation is preferred Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills Patient, dependable, and adaptable in supporting individual student needs Reliable transportation to attend in-person tutoring sessions Ability to maintain consistency and professionalism in a part-time tutoring role
Priority Requirements:
Experience tutoring middle school students, particularly in mathematics Strong knowledge of Algebra concepts and problem-solving instruction Familiarity with HSPT or other standardized entrance exam preparation Ability to provide individualized academic support and skill-building Commitment to fostering student confidence, motivation, and academic success Licensing /
