Business Communication Tutor University of Iowa United States, Iowa, Iowa City 5 West Jefferson Street (Show on map) Jul 23, 2026 Business Communication Tutor Posting ID 161063 Department Accounting/Tippie College of Business Jobcode Temp Professional Employee Working Title Business Communication Tutor Details The Frank Business Communication Center is seeking a tutor for communication assignments in the Tippie College of Business. The tutor will assist students seeking help with their writing and presentation assignments, helping students build and enhance their communication skills. A tutor should demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality as well as a pleasant public demeanor. Position dates 08/24/26 - 05/14/27 with opportunity to continue in later semesters.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC JOB TASKS
Provide guidance on how to revise and edit assignments Format documents Meet clients one-on-one or in small groups for tutor appointments in 30-minute intervals
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience Dependable, independent worker, customer service experience, and high level of attention to detail are also required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English that demonstrate a command of language and grammar, the ability to write for a specific audience, and basic slide design principles.

Zoom, Microsoft Office:
Email and calendaring (Outlook), word processing (Word), Presentations and slides (PowerPoint), and spreadsheets and tables (Excel). Work Schedule Flexiblebetween 10am-5pm Monday-Friday. Thursday and Friday availability preferred. Five hours per week Compensation is $20/hour Contact
