Job Description
College Tutors is looking for knowledgeable tutors to join our team this upcoming fall! Responsibilities of the position include keeping up with a flexible tutoring schedule, setting goals with students for mutual results, and open communication with families and the office. Tutors are subject matter experts who work one on one with students to increase their knowledge in that subject. Tutoring primarily occurs in our learning center, located in downtown Barrington. Applicants must be available in person throughout the school year. This position starts in August of 2026. Applicants must be confident in one or more of the following subjects: High School Level Math High School Level Chemistry & Physics Test Prep (ACT & SAT)
- Must be comfortable with Math AND English Elementary Level Math AND English
NICE TO HAVE
High School Level English/Language Arts High School Level Spanish Even though these subjects are essential for this job, competence in other subjects will make your application that much more competitive. (ex: History, World Languages, etc.)Summary Schedule :
We are seeking tutors available at least 3 days a week between 2:00pm-8pm Monday-Friday and who are open to having occasional weekend sessionsCompensation :
Ranges $19- 27/hr, based on your tutoring experience and references Qualifications
- Proficiency in High School level Mathematics and Science courses
- Experience in tutoring and/or teaching
- Curriculum development skills
- Familiarity with learning technology and comfort using tech in lessons
- Experience working with children and adults
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and connect with students through Indeed and a hiring manager will contact you as soon as possible.
