Job Description

Scope of Position The purpose of this position is to empower learners through individualized academic support in math and science, fostering student success in alignment with Lewis & Clark Community College's mission and commitment to educational and career attainment. Key Measurable Expectations (KMEs) Provide inclusive, individualized academic support to Engineering Pathway students in the Student Success Center in subjects such as Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, and Differential Equations to promote student achievement, persistence, and retention. Mentor and support student tutors to and ensure learners receive consistent, high-quality, and effective academic assistance. Proactively support students identified as at-risk of withdrawing from courses or programs. Collaborate with program coordinators, faculty, staff, and managers to strengthen communication, alignment, and overall program effectiveness in support of student success. Engage in continuous self-assessment and professional development while actively supporting College-wide initiatives that advance equity, inclusion, and institutional goals. Plan and facilitate sessions for students on specific content area topics. Develop and support student learning communities and group activities that foster connection, collaboration, and a sense of belonging. Communicate with, and refer students to appropriate student support services and campus resources. Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions Associate's Degree required. Demonstrated ability to teach/tutor preferably at a community college. Demonstrated commitment to our community college mission. Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and individual diversity and values. Preferred Qualifications Baccalaureate Degree is preferred. Experience with Blackboard or other course management software is preferred. Team Members can expect to be paid an hourly rate of $18.79.
