RESPONSIBILITY
Provide academic or language learning support to students, youth or adult, to help them reach their educational goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Deliver one-on-one/small group tutoring or homework help in subjects like reading, math, writing, or English Language Learning (ELL). Use the library's website to locate information, resources, and services, and assist students in navigating digital content, account features, and online tools. Work with the library coordinator to align tutoring strategies with student goals. Record session attendance, monitor student progress, and report data to the library coordinator. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate processes clearly, explain terms, concepts and technology and assign responsibility and provide feedback. Abides by established policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS
Must be age 18 or older. High school diploma or equivalent and specialized training applicable to position. Some college coursework is preferred. Can complete and pass LPCPL's background check. Welcome working with all people from your community. Positive, adaptable, and forward thinking. Display appropriate demeanor at all times; this includes dress, body language, and facial expressions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Manual dexterity for typing, handling materials, operating computers, carts, and office equipment. Sufficient vision to read print and digital materials, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception. Clearly listen and communicate with staff in a timely manner, in person, by phone, and in writing. Occasionally lift and carry library materials, supplies, and boxes up to 25 lbs. Must be able to respond to alarms, sirens, and overhead pages.
