Job Description

ACT/SAT Tutors Open Future Prep•5.0 Overland Park, KS Job Details Part-time $40•$60 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description
ACT & SAT
Tutor•Test Prep Coach | Part-Time |
Flexible Hours Pay:
$40•60 per session |
Location:
6800 W 107th St, Overland Park, KS Are you the kind of person who walks into a room and changes the energy? We're not looking for someone who just knows math — or just knows how to teach reading. We're looking for someone who can make a nervous 16-year-old believe in themselves — and then back that up with results. Our test prep program works because our tutors are more than instructors. They're coaches. They're the confident, warm, no-nonsense adults who look a struggling student in the eye and say "You've got this — and here's exactly how." Then they prove it. If that sounds like you, keep reading.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Work one-on-one with high school students to dramatically improve their ACT and SAT scores. You'll diagnose where they're weak, build a game plan, and deliver sessions that are as much about building confidence as they are about content mastery. You set your own schedule and pick up sessions that work for you.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
This role is about more than tutoring — it's about transformation.
The ideal candidate:
Has strong ACT/SAT experience, either as a former high scorer, educator, or experienced tutor Is exceptionally strong in math (algebra, geometry, data analysis), reading comprehension and verbal reasoning, or ideally both — we need specialists in each, and we love unicorns who can do both Has high emotional intelligence — you can read a student's mood, meet them where they are, and adapt on the fly Is naturally charismatic and confident — students trust you, parents respect you, and your energy is contagious Knows how to coach, not just teach — you understand that low test scores are often a confidence problem as much as a knowledge problem, and you know how to fix both Can turn an "I'm just bad at tests" into a genuine belief that high scores are achievable — because you've seen it happen and you know how to get there
REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrated experience with ACT and/or SAT content Strong subject mastery in math (algebra, geometry, data analysis) and/or reading comprehension — you should be able to ace the relevant sections yourself Tutors who can cover both math and reading comprehension are strongly preferred and may qualify for higher pay Reliable transportation — must be able to commute consistently to 6800 W 107th St, Overland Park, KS Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience working with teenagers is a strong plus Prior tutoring, coaching, teaching, or mentoring background preferred
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
$40•60 per session, depending on experience You set your own hours — sessions are scheduled around your availability Part-time, flexible commitment — great as a primary gig or a strong supplement to your income
THIS IS NOT A PASSIVE JOB
If you're looking to sit back and walk a student through a worksheet, this isn't the right fit. We want tutors who are engaged, who celebrate wins loudly, who hold students accountable with kindness, and who genuinely care about outcomes. Our students come in skeptical. They leave as believers. That's because of people like you.
TO APPLY
Tell us a little about yourself, your experience with standardized tests, and — most importantly — give us an example of a time you helped someone build confidence in an area where they'd previously given up. We can't wait to meet you.
