As a part-time Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group. You will provide personalized instruction in the subjects you are qualified and wish to teach. Day, evening, and weekend hours available. If you aspire to inspire, then we want you on our team. As a successful teacher you will: Duties Prepare for each instructional session by gathering materials as appropriate Greet students and initiate instruction to personally engage each student. Instruct students according to the design of the Sylvan program. Evaluate and record the progress of each student on their program. Manage students, tasks and time to create a balanced and robust instructional session. Motivate students with Sylvan tokens given for specific achievements according to the Sylvan instructional management standards. Use praise and encouragement to ensure students are engaged and inspired to learn. Communicate specific student needs to Center staff. Complete certification training on each Sylvan program taught to students. Skills Required Proven ability to engage, motivate and inspire students to learn. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible. Strong problem solving and customer service skills. Strong team player. Four year degree or equivalent required
