Job Description

Revised Role Overview:
Tutor (English & Math) Moving Challenges is seeking a dedicated, experienced educator to join our nonprofit mission. We believe that with the right support, every child can thrive. Our programs are designed to bridge instructional and educational gaps by combining individualized attention, small-group instruction, and evidence-based strategies. Target Student Population:
Primarily elementary and middle school students (ages 5-12), with a small group of older youth (ages 12-16), including students who learn differently and those with special education needs.
Our Core Focus:
Addressing learning gaps, reinforcing current grade-level skills, and giving students a confident head start for the upcoming school year. Key Responsibilities As a Lead Tutor, you will bring your classroom expertise to a dynamic, supportive setting:
Differentiated Instruction:
Develop and deliver customized, evidence-based lesson plans in English and Math adapted for students across elementary, middle, and early high school levels.
Inclusive Teaching:
Implement inclusive teaching practices and multi-sensory strategies tailored to individual learning styles and special education needs.
EdTech Integration:
Utilize interactive learning technology and digital resources to boost student engagement and enhance understanding.
Progress Tracking:
Conduct regular formative assessments to monitor growth, adapt teaching strategies, and maintain accurate records of attendance and progress reports.
Qualifications & Skills Proven Experience:
Demonstrated background in teaching or tutoring, with a strong understanding of child and adolescent development across diverse age ranges (ages 5-16).
Curriculum Adaptation:
Strong expertise in adapting Math and English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum to bridge foundational educational gaps.
Inclusive Educator:
Solid knowledge of special education best practices and a passion for supporting students who learn differently.
Tech Savvy:
Proficiency with educational software, digital tools, and data platforms for interactive instruction and lesson planning.
