August 2026 Position Summary This is a part-time position in the Roxbury Community College Learning Center. This individual will work closely with the Coordinator of Academic Support and MAIPSEI and will directly report to the Senior Associate Dean of Students. The Learning Center is seeking general applicants who can provide supplemental instruction in the following subject areas.
This list is not exhaustive:
Computer science and Microsoft Applications Radiological Technology Writing and Research Biology, Anatomy and Physiology ESOL Statistics and various levels of Calculus In addition to providing supplemental instruction in a specialized area, all Professional Tutors are expected to: Assist students with learning and reviewing subject material during scheduled. tutoring appointments and drop-in tutoring sessions. Assist students with developing good study habits. Monitor student progress and maintain progress reports. Submit regular documentation of tutoring sessions. Communicate regularly with staff, faculty, and students. Attend tutor training sessions. Assist students with accessing and learning RCC online platforms, including My RCC and Canvas. Meet with supervisor to discuss tutor feedback. Able to provide full focus and attention to duties and student sessions. Comply with the duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Requirements:
Qualifications All candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Must have Bachelor's Degree or higher in subject area Must have good study habits Must have excellent computer literacy skills Must have excellent communication skills Experience working in a multilingual and diverse community a plus Preferred Masters degree in relevant field Spanish or Haitian Creole Experience working with adult learners
