26-27 Extended Learning Program Tutor Somerville Public Schools - 3.7 Somerville, MA Job Details Seasonal $30 an hour 2 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Position Summary Extended Learning Program Tutor works with students individually or in small groups to provide academic support for the blended learning program that serves Somerville students; these are students who are currently excluded from school or are at high risk of dropping out. The Extended Learning Tutor is expected to coordinate learning and track progress of students under the guidance of a Program Coordinator and the Extended Learning Teachers. The Extended Learning Tutor will support students' continued progress toward attainment of a high school diploma. Essential Functions & Responsibilities The essential functions or responsibilities listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position Support the online academic program for the students based on their Individual Learning Plans. Establish a consistent line of communication with students to support their progress through their online academic program as established in their ILP, utilizing the online learning platform and through telephone support as needed. Provide ongoing monitoring and support for students as they progress through courses, including regular face-to-face sessions during school hours on a schedule established by the Extended Learning Coordinator, during the school year. Work with Extended Learning staff to assist with students' motivation and progress toward academic goals. Bending, crouching, kneeling, stooping, and reaching to assist students.
Stationary Tasks:
Remaining in a stationary position (sitting/standing) for long periods.

School Year Hours:
Maximimum of 400 total work hours to be coordinated with the ELP Coordinator July -
August:
Summer hours will be scheduled in coordination with the Assistant Superintendent and program needs.
Compensation:
$30 per hour
