Immediately Job Description About Us Stars School is a growing, specialized language-based school dedicated to supporting students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Our mission is to provide individualized, evidence-based instruction within a nurturing and collaborative educational environment where students can build confidence, independence, and academic success. As a newly established school, we are seeking educators who are flexible, collaborative, and excited to help shape and grow an innovative learning community. Position Overview We are seeking a passionate and highly qualified Orton-Gillingham Certified Tutor to provide individualized and small-group structured literacy instruction to students in grades 1-8. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with dyslexia and related learning differences and will value collaboration, creativity, and relationship-building within a dynamic school setting. Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized and small-group literacy instruction using the Orton-Gillingham approach and other structured literacy methodologies.
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans based on student needs, progress, and learning profiles.
  • Utilize multisensory instructional strategies to support phonological awareness, decoding, encoding, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
  • Support students in building confidence, self-advocacy skills, and positive learning experiences.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain timely session notes and progress documentation.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and school staff to support student goals and instructional consistency.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with families and school districts as needed.
  • Follow student IEPs, accommodation plans, and individualized learning goals.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative and evolving school culture.
