TITLE:
America Reads & America Counts
SUPERVISOR
Worcester Dual Language Magnet School & May Street School
SCHEDULE
Based on student's class schedule
HOURLY RATE
$15/Hr
AVERAGE HOURS PER WEEK
4-5
Responsibilities:
1. Tutors work directly with kindergarten through sixth-grade students to improve their reading and math proficiency skills. 2. Tutors perform one-on-one work with individual students, small group work, or class activities. 3. Tutors collaborate with America Reads/Counts supervisors, teachers, and afterschool program coordinators to assess students' needs and how to best address them. 4. Tutors are expected to be positive role models inside and outside of the classroom, be professional in their workplace behavior, which means showing up to work on time and making the proper contacts when they expect to be sick or late.
Job Requirements:
1. Excellent people skills, enthusiasm for helping children, respectful attitude 2. Ability to work separately with a child within a larger context of child/tutor groups 3. Attention to detail regarding paperwork and prompt arrival/departure from school 4. Excellent reading/math skills and willingness to share your love of reading/math
