Good Hope Tutoring Services is seeking enthusiastic, energetic, and dependable educators to join our growing team of after-school teachers and tutors serving elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Charles County. Since 2004, Good Hope Tutoring Services has helped thousands of students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and discover that learning can be exciting. We believe students learn best when instruction is engaging, interactive, encouraging, and fun. Position Details This is a part-time, in-person position supporting academic enrichment and intervention programs in Charles County schools. Typical Schedule Most assignments take place on weekdays during after-school hours, generally in the afternoon and early evening. Depending on the program and school location, some opportunities may also include daytime instructional support, such as in-school pull-out or push-in services. Schedules vary by assignment, school, program needs, and your availability. Opportunities may be available on one or more weekdays, and work hours are not guaranteed. We strive to match educators with assignments that align with both program needs and their availability whenever possible. Responsibilities Provide engaging small-group instruction in math, reading, writing, homework support, study skills, or other academic subjects. Create fun, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences that keep students motivated and excited to learn. Build students' confidence while helping them strengthen their academic skills. Use creative teaching strategies, educational games, and hands-on activities to make learning enjoyable. Foster a positive, structured, and welcoming learning environment where every student feels encouraged and supported. Build positive relationships with students while serving as a caring role model and mentor. Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and effective communication with school staff and the Good Hope leadership team. Complete attendance, lesson documentation, or other required program records as assigned. Qualifications Preferred candidates may include current or former classroom teachers, substitute teachers, paraprofessionals, instructional assistants, experienced tutors, college graduates, current college students pursuing a degree in education or a related field, and individuals with experience working with children in educational or youth development settings.
