Job Description

At Mindful with Children (MWC) , we pride ourselves on supporting the holistic growth of children. This means providing them the academic support they need, while at the same serving as a partner in the support of their growing confidence, positive self concept, and independence. We are looking to add talented, caring reading specialist to our team who have a passion for working with children in this capacity. Each specialist (tutor) is paired to work with a child diagnosed with a emerging reading need for work in a 1:1 capacity. Our specialists (tutors) will often be contracted for between one and three sessions per week (per family, and the specialist would have the option of working with multiple families), lasting for one hour each session. We are specifically looking for specialists who can work during the school day hours to push into local independent schools, but would also be open to hiring teachers who can work after school hours as well. Required Qualifications:
Master's Degree Access to a reliable car or alternate means of transportation Established proficiency in subject matter Experience teaching and/or supporting students within the range of grades K to 12 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills In addition, all educators applying for a position with us will need to pass a background check and be cleared to work with children through the American Fingerprinting Services or an alternately accredited organization. Finally, preference will be given to those reading specialists who carry with them certification in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, and/or other approaches of to teaching reading that draw from the science of reading and multi-sensory approach.
