Position Summary:
Bilingual support staff will be working with the principal and classroom teachers to identify Spanish speaking students needing Bilingual support. Bilingual support staff will establish and maintain a schedule that provides the most instructional support to the students with the highest needs.
Position Responsibilities:
Work with classroom teachers and parents to support the inclusion of Bilingual students in the instructional process Delivery of core curriculum concepts in students' first language when indicated Liaison to facilitate communication between classroom teacher and Bilingual student Support growth of literacy, using students first language when appropriate, bridging English as able Support development of English language skills Provide a link for school personnel with student's lives Communicating with parents between school and home as needed.
Qualifications:
Has completed at least 60 credit hours at a post-secondary college, has an Associate degree or higher, or has passed the Work Keys test Proficient, literate, and able to translate in English & LANGUAGE NEEDED Ability to interact with students, parents, and staff in a professional manner Flexibility to work evening hours, if needed, for special events (Open House, Parents' Night, etc.)
Salary:
$20.00/hour

The successful candidate will be subject to a fingerprint and background check as a condition of employment.
