Battle Creek Public Schools (BCPS) is located in Calhoun County, Michigan (between Chicago and Detroit), serving the City of Battle Creek as well as parts of Emmett, Pennfield and Bedford townships, and the City of Springfield. Position Responsibilities:
Tutoring or assisting individual students Teaching small group lessons Providing additional instruction in reading and math skills Assist in social development skills Collaborating and supporting teachers' programming goals, and teaching strategies while reinforcing students' learning strategies in the classroom Assist classroom teachers in documenting appropriate assessment data that results in fair, though not equal, assessment. Ensure that data collection is accurate and timely. Engage in professional development on a continual basis Maintain confidentiality Promote and advocate for the school and district mission and vision statements Support academic, and behavior goals that have been set for students Communicate proactively and professionally with students with teaching staff Conduct all work activities in a professional manner Demonstrate commitment to working in a diverse school community and/or work environment Reinforce student success following highly structured protocols and data documentation methods Understand and participate in the implementation of Positive Behavior Support initiatives in the building Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have 60 college credits or an Associate's Degree or higher or a passing score (460 or higher on the ETS Paraprofessional Assessment) Must be flexible and organized and willing to work as a team with other staff members. Must have prior experience in an elementary classroom setting. Experience working with students in the Reading and Writing (balanced literacy) Experience in developing lesson plans in all subject areas. Experience in collaborating with colleagues.
Salary:
$20.00 per hour $30.00 per hour (Certified Teacher)
