August 25, 2026 Job Summary The Intervention Specialist and Title I Tutor positions are a vital member of each school's MTSS and School Improvement Team, dedicated to closing academic gaps and accelerating student growth through targeted intervention in reading and math. This role plays a strategic part in ensuring every student has equitable access to the support they need to succeed. Working in alignment with the district's Multi- Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework and in close collaboration with instructional leaders, classroom teachers, and building principals, the interventionist delivers data-informed, evidence-based interventions that are integral to school-wide improvement goals. In addition, this position ensures compliance with Michigan's dyslexia legislation and Title I, 31a, and 31aa funding requirements, supporting the district's commitment to educational equity and excellence.
Key Responsibilities School-Wide Team Participation:
Serve as an active member of the School Improvement Team, contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of systems that support student success across tiers.
Collaborative Practice:
Partner with School-Based Instructional Leaders, classroom teachers, special educators, and principals to align supports, share data, and ensure cohesive implementation of instruction and intervention within the MTSS framework.
Student-Centered MTSS Meetings:
Participate in school-based MTSS meetings for students on their intervention caseload, contributing data, progress updates, and instructional recommendations to inform next steps and support planning Tier 2 and 3
Intervention Delivery:
Deliver daily, research-based interventions in reading and math to students identified through MTSS processes, with a focus on accelerating academic growth.
Progress Monitoring:
Use validated progress monitoring tools to assess student growth regularly; analyze data to refine instruction and inform team decisions.
School-Wide Support and Coordination:
Coordinate intervention schedules in collaboration with grade-level teams and support staff, ensuring strategic and efficient deployment of resources to meet school-wide needs.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of intervention services, student progress, and instructional adjustments, in alignment with grant (Title I, 31a, 31aa) and legal (dyslexia law) requirements.

Literacy Law Implementation:
Provide targeted, dyslexia-specific interventions consistent with Michigan law and BPS protocols to ensure equitable literacy outcomes for all learners.
Ongoing Learning:
Engage in continuous professional learning, including training in LETRS, Orton Gillingham, and other evidence-based instructional methodologies to enhance expertise in intervention delivery. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in education Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate Completion of or commitment to complete LETRS and Orton Gillingham training Preferred Qualifications • Experience in delivering small group or one-on-one intervention Familiarity with universal screeners, progress monitoring tools, and intervention programs Background in reading and math instruction, particularly for struggling learners Knowledge of MTSS structures and data team processes Awareness of Michigan dyslexia law and instructional implications
