Job Description
Learning Power Academics is seeking a part-time Elementary School Tutor to provide individualized academic support to students in grades K-6. This position involves working with students in a 1:1 or 2:1 student-to-instructor setting to provide targeted instruction in reading, math, homework support, study skills, and academic enrichment. We are looking for an energetic, engaging, and student-centered educator who is passionate about helping young learners build confidence and achieve academic success. A background in elementary education, reading instruction, and phonics is strongly preferred. As a locally owned, family-operated tutoring center, we value educators who are committed to building meaningful relationships with students while helping our organization continue to grow.
Compensation:
$27-$32 per hour, based on experienceSchedule:
Flexible, part-time hours Responsibilities Provide individualized instruction to students in grades K-6 Teach elementary reading, writing, and math concepts Deliver instruction in a 1:1 or 2:1 learning environment Support students with homework and classroom assignments Implement lesson plans that address students' individual academic needs Set academic goals and monitor student progress Provide enrichment using supplemental curriculum and instructional materials Document student progress and communicate updates with the academic team Foster a positive, encouraging, and engaging learning environment Provide targeted reading instruction, including phonics and foundational literacy skills Qualifications Previous experience teaching or tutoring elementary-aged students Teaching license preferred but not required School district or classroom experience preferred Experience teaching reading fundamentals and phonics Knowledge of Minnesota academic standards in reading, writing, and mathematics Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive relationships with students and families Strong organizational and time-management skills Why Join Learning Power Academics?
