Job Description

In-Person Site Coordinator Reports to:
Program Manager Position Type:
Part-Time, September-June, Monday-Thursday site coordination and occasional Fridays.
Location:
Assigned Tutoring Site Position Summary Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Site Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and managing of all aspects of the tutoring site including volunteer supervision, volunteer scheduling, data gathering and input, and fostering student growth as readers. Site Management
  • Work with Program Managers on initial schedules for tutoring site. Maintain site schedule including tutor scheduling and arranging substitute tutors as needed.
  • Communicate changes in schedule with volunteers.
  • Monitor school/site calendars, schedules, and safety procedures.
  • Organize and maintain tutoring space and materials for student and volunteer maximum success.
  • Provide orientation to volunteers at tutoring site.
  • Supervise, support and guide volunteer tutors.
  • Be present and available to tutors during tutoring hours. Volunteer Engagement and Management
  • Participate and help lead literacy training including pre-service onboarding tutor training, ongoing tutor training and site training.
  • Coach volunteers to deliver sessions effectively, adhering to curriculum guidelines and literacy best practices.
  • Offer regular, positive feedback to tutors, encouraging ongoing development and commitment.
  • Complete at least one formal observation and feedback conversation per volunteer each school year.
  • Report student or volunteer concerns to the program manager promptly.
  • Review volunteer session notes weekly to offer suggestions and follow up as needed.
  • Communicate ESLC updates and information with volunteers. Student Support & Supervision
  • Collaborate and assist with student behavior management.
  • Report student or volunteer concerns to the program manager promptly.
  • Assist in selecting and providing appropriate educational instructional materials based on student abilities.
  • Assist in student transitions to and from the tutoring space. Assessment
  • Support and train volunteers in administering SEL (Social Emotional Learning) surveys three times per year.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers in collecting student assessments and demographic data.
  • Administer student assessments three times annually and upon student entry/exit from the program. Discuss student progress with Program Manager, Classroom Teachers and volunteers as needed.
  • Communicate student progress to Program Manager, and classroom teachers, volunteers as needed.
  • Provide student performance summaries for parent-teacher conferences as needed. Data Oversight and Management
  • Store volunteer data securely, in compliance with confidentiality standards.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records.
  • Assist volunteers in maintaining accurate timesheets and session notes using online systems. Other Duties
  • Meet regularly with the program manager.
  • Attend ESLC meetings, events and training as required. Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with children and/or volunteers preferred.
  • Commitment to literacy education and the mission of ESLC.
  • Ability to use digital tools for scheduling, data entry, and communication.
  • Availability during assigned tutoring hours and for occasional meetings/trainings.
