H2 Learning Lab is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Learning Lab Assistant to support students during our in-person tutoring and enrichment sessions. H2 Learning Lab provides personalized academic support in reading, writing, and math , along with enrichment opportunities that encourage students to explore new ideas and build real-world skills. Our goal is to create a welcoming learning environment where students can strengthen their skills, build confidence, and become more independent learners. What You'll Do As a Learning Lab Assistant, you will work alongside the lead educator to support students and help the Learning Lab run smoothly.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting students with reading, writing, and/or math activities Working individually with students or assisting small groups Helping students complete assigned learning activities and practice previously taught skills Listening to students read and providing encouragement and appropriate feedback Assisting with educational games, hands-on activities, and enrichment projects Helping students develop organization, problem-solving, and independent learning skills Observing student performance and communicating observations to the lead educator Preparing and organizing learning materials before and after sessions Maintaining a welcoming, organized, and positive learning environment Encouraging students and helping them build confidence as learners Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Enjoys working with children and has a genuine interest in education Has strong reading, writing, and basic math skills Is patient, encouraging, dependable, and professional Communicates well with children and adults Can follow instructional plans and directions provided by the lead educator Is comfortable working with students with different academic abilities and learning needs Can work independently when needed while also being part of a team Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality Preferred but not required: College student majoring in education, elementary education, special education, psychology, child development, or a related field Previous tutoring, childcare, mentoring, camp, or classroom experience Interest in literacy, reading intervention, or working with struggling learners Training and instructional guidance will be provided. Schedule Part-time Current in-person programming is primarily offered Mondays and Saturdays , with the potential for additional hours as H2 Learning Lab grows. Compensation $15.00-$20.00 per hour , depending on education and experience. Work Location In person - St. Louis, Missouri About H2 Learning Lab At H2 Learning Lab, we believe learning is something students actively build . Our Learning Lab gives children a supportive space to practice skills, ask questions, make mistakes, try new strategies, and grow. We provide tutoring and enrichment in reading, writing, math, financial literacy, cultural studies, and other learning experiences designed to help students become confident, capable learners.
