Cast Member City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. Provide in-class academic support to students individually and in small groups Tutor students in core subjects to reinforce classroom instruction Mentor students to build social, emotional, and leadership skills Support teachers with classroom management and learning activities Assist with planning and leading after-school and enrichment programs Track and report student progress and participation data Collaborate with school staff and City Year teammates on service plans Help coordinate school-wide events and positive school climate initiatives Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Model City Year's values of service, inclusion, and social justice Tutoring and academic support Classroom support and management assistance Student mentoring and youth engagement Basic data tracking and documentation Communication (verbal and written) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Cultural competency and inclusion Basic conflict resolution Facilitation of group activities Medical Insurance Eligible to serve in AmeriCorps (U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident) Ability to pass background checks required for work in schools Commitment to a full-time AmeriCorps service term
