Tutors provide remedial support to K-12 students in the areas of math, reading, and writing. Tutors are trained in our methodology and use it, as applicable, along with best practices to provide tutoring support in individual or group sessions. Tutors work in a part-time capacity and can work year-round, mostly during after school hours. We are seeking tutors who can provide 8-10 hours per week of instruction. Applicants should have a thorough understanding of learning differences and possess a strong foundation in the preferred tutoring area. Preference will be given to candidates with 1) a Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education, 2) certification in special education, 3) certification in related field, and/or 4) experience working with students learning differences.
Hill Tutoring provides:
Extensive training in Hill Methodology Mentor support Ongoing Professional Development opportunities (earn CEUs) Supportive administrative team and collaborative colleagues Tutoring occurs M-F beginning at 3:45 and Sat/Sun beginning at 9am Potential for high volume, 1:1 tutoring during school hours Year-round tutoring on Hill's campus Supplies and materials provided (access to robust technology and tech support) Student matching and billing all done by Tutoring Admins Starting at $35/hour Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.About Hill Learning Center:
Founded in 1977, Hill Learning Center's mission is to transform students with learning differences into confident, independent learners. Hill Learning Center supports students, educators, and families with research-based, culturally relevant programs designed to meet the needs of students with learning differences, attention challenges, gaps in foundational academic skills, and difficulties with executive function. Hill serves students in grades K-12 through school, summer, and tutoring programs at Hill and in local schools. Students receive individualized, research-based instruction in reading, writing, math, and executive function skills. Programs focus on helping students develop the academic, organizational, self-advocacy, and social-emotional skills they need to succeed in school and in life. Hill offers virtual and in-person educator professional development opportunities for K-12 teachers and schools, providing an understanding of learning disabilities and ADHD and the instructional strategies and tools teachers need to deliver research-based instruction and intervention in reading, writing, math, and executive function skills. Hill helps families better understand, support, and advocate for their children with learning differences and attention challenges. Hill School families have access to counseling services, postsecondary planning, and other learning opportunities and support. Hill also offers online learning and Hill Connect—a free series for parents and caregivers—and partners with local schools and nonprofits to provide resources and programming for the families and communities they serve.
