Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit Description of Work Under the supervision of the Coordinator/Counselor of the Student Support Services Program, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: Collaborate and follow instructions as delegated by the Coordinator/Counselor or other Student Support Services Program (SSSP) staff.
Communicate frequently with Coordinator/Counselor and/or other program staff regarding student progress and performance.
Demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of student differences (diversity).
Maintain proper records & documentation and confidentiality of information.
Assess tutee status to determine areas of strengths/weaknesses.
Schedule and conduct tutorial sessions, either one-on-one or small group tutoring
Maintain and document contact with assigned tutees.
Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times and be a positive role model for students.
Attend scheduled meetings, training sessions, workshops, seminars designed to enhance tutor/tutee experience.
Assist Coordinator/Counselor with detailed data collection, program reports, and other reporting activities.
Serve as mentor for Student Support Services Program participants.
Plan and conduct workshops sessions, as directed by the Coordinator/Counselor. Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position Have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Be flexible, enthusiastic and friendly.
Be able to provide tutorial services for three or more subject/content areas. License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation A bachelor's degree with at least two years of successful tutoring or teaching experience.
