Job Description

To be successful in this job, the incumbent must be able to implement tutoring strategies to elementary school children with the goal of improving reading comprehension outcomes by the end of the spring term 2025 Duties/Functions Attend self-paced training in order to be fully prepared to provide tutoring Work with students one on one at their school location to improve reading fluency Provide guided feedback to students to ensure they are meeting learning goals Difficult Challenges Contacts Tutors will be assigned supervision based on the schools to which they are assigned Education Required Demonstrated proficiency in college level English classes at GTCC Education Preferred Applicants who are enrolled in either the ECE or Education programs will be given preference in hiring Experience Required Experience Preferred Applicants with prior tutoring experience will be given preference in hiring KSA Required Ability to communicate effectively with elementary age children and to provide structure and support as needed. KSA Preferred Department/Job Specific Requirements Applicants must be able to provide transportation to their assigned schools. Every effort will be made to match tutors with nearby elementary schools. Shifts vary and may be scheduled from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
