Position Description This position provides support to one or more sites in the Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC) and will ensure a quality instructional process consistent with departmental goals and objectives. The position reports to the TLC Department Head. Most postings are open for a limited time, depending upon the number of applications received. Responsibilities and Duties (•Essential Functions) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential job functions satisfactorily. Maintains records and supports assigned skills center(s) and referral systems Assists the Department Head with maintaining and updating various reports using excel and word including department monthly student usage Welcomes and receives students and other users to the TLC and registers them for appropriate services and schedule appointments as needed. Assists in the smooth operation of TLC Reception Center and facilitates the quiet ?ow of user tra?c Assists with marketing and communications for the site as well as for the department Assists with event planning for the department Provides leadership and training of TLC work study students; coordinates their schedules with Site Coordinators, oversees their contracts and resolves their payroll issues, as needed Collaborates with Site Coordinators and assists in implementing new technology, services, or processes Facilitates site pick-up/delivery of mail; screens, prioritizes, and processes mail as needed Arranges for routine maintenance and repair of site equipment as necessary Responsible for accurate record keeping including adjunct hiring packets, contract creation, and electronic ?les for the TLC Answers questions and provide information about all TLC services (directions, function of TLC) by phone, in person, by email Assists with and attends site events and tables, including college Resource Fairs and Open Houses Prepares information of a routine nature, including handouts, correspondence, mailing labels, etc. Responsible for ordering keys and maintaining accurate assignment records
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work with shared assignments as a team member Intermediate skills in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Excellent record keeping skills and the ability to perform responsibilities in an environment with frequent interruptions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to honor commitments including being punctual and punctual Must be able to answer multi-line telephone and handle all calls courteously and professionally
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Office clerical experience that includes detailed record keeping
Preferences:
Associate's degree Two years experience in an administrative support role in an office environment
