Early Head Start Housekeeper / Wrap-Around Tutor Part-Time - Up to 29 Hours per Week Position Summary The Early Head Start Housekeeper / Wrap-Around Tutor supports the daily operation of the Early Head Start program by maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment and providing supervision and care for children during wrap-around services. This position works collaboratively with classroom and program staff to support the health, safety, nutrition, and well-being of children. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to follow food preparation, sanitation, and safety procedures. Must meet applicable North Carolina child care requirements and complete required background checks and training. Experience working with young children preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow Head Start Program Performance Standards, North Carolina Child Care Rules, Rutherford County Schools policies, and program procedures. Perform assigned daily custodial cleaning, sanitation, and general upkeep of Early Head Start facilities. Assist with food preparation, meal service, and other duties necessary to support the program's nutrition services. Maintain food preparation, custodial supplies, and equipment in a safe and orderly manner and ensure hazardous materials are inaccessible to children. Maintain required records and documentation related to assigned nutrition, custodial, and classroom responsibilities. Provide a positive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children participating in wrap-around services. Assist with age-appropriate activities and daily routines for children in care. Maintain active supervision of children at all times, including required child counts and name-to-face procedures. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of children and follow established procedures for emergencies, incidents, and child safety concerns. Maintain classroom activity areas, materials, and supplies and report needed repairs or replacements. Complete required attendance and other documentation for children participating in wrap-around services. Establish and maintain professional, respectful communication with families, staff, and other program personnel. Participate in required pre-service, in-service, health and safety, and other program training. Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective operation of the Early Head Start program. Terms of Employment Part-time, 12-month position working up to 29 hours per week. The regular workday will begin at 12:00 p.m., with the daily ending time and work schedule established according to program needs. Salary and other conditions of employment will be established by Rutherford County Schools and the Board of Education. Reports To Preschool Director and/or Designee Evaluation Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with Rutherford County Schools procedures for classified/paraprofessional employees.
