A Tutor works with students who need additional help or review. Provides instruction in an academic subject, or reviews a particular class lesson, or assists with preparing for a test. Works with students one-on-one or in a small group, and usually meets with students outside of school.
Must be eligible to work in the United States. There is no sponsorship for this position.
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT
LRSC students only with a strong academic background. This is a part-time, non-benefitted, working approximately - 5-10 hours/week, and flexible around a student's schedule.

JOB SUMMARY
Peer Tutors assist LRSC students by providing academic support in specific subject areas. Tutors help students understand course material, develop study strategies, and prepare for exams while encouraging independent learning in a supportive environment. Responsibilities Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in assigned subjects Help students understand course concepts and prepare for exams Assist with study skills, organization, and academic strategies Maintain records of tutoring sessions as required Attend tutor training and follow LRSC tutoring policies Attend two tutor meetings each semester (beginning and midterm) Use Starfish to view tutor referrals and schedule tutoring sessions The ability to tutor one or multiple classes in these subject areas: Math 103, ASC 93, BIOL 111, 130,150,220,221, ENGL 110,120, or

$15.00 per hour.
