Job Summary I am seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Orton Gillingham Tutor (Or Wilson or Similar) to join my Orton-Gillingham office as I slowly begin to build a team as new leads come in. In this role, you will provide evidence-based literacy instruction using the Orton-Gillingham approach to support students with reading, spelling, and writing challenges. Your expertise will help foster a love of learning and build confidence in students of diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities or special educational needs. Responsibilities Deliver individualized Orton Gillingham lessons tailored to each student's unique learning profile and needs Develop and adapt lesson plans that incorporate multisensory teaching techniques aligned with curriculum standards Utilize various learning technologies and e-learning platforms to enhance instructional delivery and engagement Assess student progress regularly, adjusting instructional strategies to maximize learning outcomes Collaborate with educators, parents, and specialists to support students with disabilities and ensure comprehensive educational support Maintain detailed records of student progress, lesson plans, and instructional materials Create a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes active participation and confidence-building Skills Strong knowledge of literacy education principles and the Orton Gillingham methodology Experience working with students with disabilities and understanding of special education strategies Proficiency in curriculum development and lesson planning for diverse learner needs Skilled in using learning technology, e-learning platforms, and instructional adaptability techniques Excellent writing skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly Experience working with children across early childhood education settings, including preschool experience and childcare environments Multilingual abilities such as Mandarin, French, Japanese, or other foreign languages are a plus for supporting diverse student populations Classroom management skills to foster an engaging and disciplined learning atmosphere Background in teaching foreign languages or literacy skills is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of all ages, especially those requiring specialized support Join me as an Orton Gillingham Tutor to empower learners through innovative instruction that transforms their reading and writing abilities.
