Job Description
Tutor Doctor is a locally owned tutoring company that has proudly served families in our community for more than 15 years. We provide personalized, one-to-one tutoring in students' homes and carefully match tutors with students based on subject expertise, personality, and availability. We are currently hiring an Elementary Tutor for reading, writing, and math support for students in the Ridgewood and surrounding areas. Tutors work one-on-one with students to strengthen foundational academic skills, build confidence, and help students develop positive learning habits. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and making a meaningful impact in their academic growth. Subjects K-6 Reading & Writing K-6
Math Bonus:
Experience working in Special Education What You'll Do Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions for K-6 students Support reading comprehension, writing development, and foundational math skills Help students build confidence and strong study habits Provide brief session notes through our online platform This Role Is Perfect For Certified teachers or substitute teachers College or graduate students majoring in education or related fields Retired teachers Individuals with experience working with children who enjoy helping students succeed Qualifications Experience working with elementary-aged students (tutoring, teaching, education programs, childcare, etc.) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Reliable transportation to travel to students in the Ridgewood and surrounding areas Patient, engaging, and dependable Teaching certification preferred but not required Schedule Most tutoring sessions take place after school (approximately 3:30-8:00 PM) or on weekends , and tutors can choose sessions that fit their availability.
