29 Job Title Credit Recovery Tutor Department Granite Connection High School Supervisor Principal Salary Schedule ESP Hourly (72) Lane Placement ff Contract Length Hourly Only FLSA Classification Non-exempt Last Review Date July 2020 Job Summary The Granite Connection High School Credit Recovery Learning Lab is open to any student in Granite School District and provides credit assistance. Tutors also assist adult students to prepare to complete diploma or GED requirements. Tutors in the Credit Recovery Learning Lab follow guidelines of the Credit Recovery Project in administering assessments and evaluating work. This position assists with clerk work, tutors, motivates and assisting in solving complex problems. Tutors needs to be able to work without direct supervision. Attendance, physical presence, and timeliness are required and are essential functions of this position. Essential Functions Advise high school and adult students as they work towards earning a high school diploma Assist students with assignments Evaluates, corrects, and grades student work Must be able to keep accurate records of student progress for up to 48 students at one time Must be able to collaborate with colleagues in the classroom Communicates with students, parents, and program supervisors in the high school and adult programs Fields phone calls from school officials, parents, students, case workers, and others. Answers questions regarding student progress, Learning Lab services and directs callers to appropriate education professional for program referral Non-Essential Functions Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge and Skills Must have a good working knowledge of required high school curriculum, especially math, science, and language arts Ability to motivate students to achieve goals Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to interact positively with students Basic reading, writing, and math skills Ability to work without direct supervision Required Education and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Some college experience is preferred Bilingual skills preferred Required Prior Experience None Assigned Decision Making Makes decisions concerning the best way to accomplish tasks. Must take directions well and be able to work within specific guidelines. Makes suggestions but must be willing to follow directions. Interactions with Others Positive interaction with students, teachers, social workers, psychologists, support personnel and administrators. Supervisory Responsibility NA Budget Responsibility NA Working Environment Work setting is mainly in the classroom. May be asked to work inside and outside the building to accomplish assigned tasks. Working conditions can be in hot and cold weather. May experience stress from disruptive students and/or groups of students. Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift/move up to 15 lbs.
