To make this happen, we are adding to our strong team of talented professionals to deepen and broaden our impact. Summary of Position Tutors will work in small groups with boys between 6-12 years of age, who require special education instruction and modifications, administer diagnostics on boys with academic needs when appropriate, support other tutors in their instruction techniques, and help create strong programs (such as specific clubs or preparation courses). Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement appropriate programs and lesson plans that enhance skill development of participants using a variety of techniques.
• Work regularly with the Education Director, Education Coordinator, Social Worker, and/or Psychologist to assess the needs of individual students and adapt lessons to those needs.
• Prepare class materials, curriculum, and bulletin displays, and make copies as needed.

Education and/or Experience Minimum Bachelor's Degree with a focus in Special Education, and/or other highly relevant field; At least 2 years of experience as a tutor or classroom teacher; Comfort with students and subject content for high school level; Teacher certification or formal education experience strongly preferred; knowledge of NYC school standards a plus. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Organizational Support, Design, Planning and Organizing, Quality, Leadership, Teamwork, Written and Oral Communication, Special Education Assessment ?
