Note:
Positions begin September 1, 2026 AmeriCorps is a life-changing service experience for those who serve as well as those who receive the service. Join Ohio Reading & Math Corps and make a real impact on students' lives! Seeking service-oriented people to provide elementary level tutoring for K-5 students in local elementary schools as a Member of Ohio Reading & Math Corps! Work with students who are below-proficient in reading for their grade level. Members receive training and are assigned to one school for the school year Members will provide tutoring to a set list of students in small groups or in 1:1 settings. This is a great way to give back to the community, help students, and gain valuable experience for those interested in obtaining a job in a school district. Placements include Tarhe Trails and Medill Elementary Schools. This is a service position with AmeriCorps, requiring 30 hours/week September 1st - May 31st following the school schedule. Total commitment is 900 hours over 9 months. In return for service, Members receive a stipend of $1,500 per month, plus an Education Award of up to $3, 750 upon completion of the term. This can be used to pay student loans or college tuition.
