Join a supportive team dedicated to student success. The Science Learning Center (SLC) is seeking a Student Desk Attendant to serve as the first point of contact for students utilizing SLC services. This role focuses on welcoming students, managing front desk operations, and supporting a structured, professional learning environment . The desk attendant plays a key role in connecting students to tutoring services and ensuring smooth daily operations. Schedule Requirements Availability between Monday- Thursday10:00 a.m.
- 7:00 p.m. 10-20 hours per week Combination of daytime and at least one evening shift preferred May include coverage during peak times (midterms/finals) What You'll Do
- Provide one-on-one and group tutoring for biology, microbiology, or anatomy and physiology courses.
- Create a welcoming and encouraging space for students to thrive academically.
- Break down complex topics using clear, engaging teaching methods.
- Collaborate with faculty and team members to continuously improve the learning experience.
- Offer constructive feedback to help students overcome challenges and build confidence.
- Enthusiasm for biology-related courses with a strong understanding of the material.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and make learning approachable.
- Organized and reliable, with strong time management abilities.
- Previous tutoring experience is a plus, but not required.
- Commitment to creating a positive learning atmosphere.

Desk attendants are critical to maintaining the SLC as a welcoming and effective learning space.
