Job Description
Cast Member City Year seeks AmeriCorps Members to serve full-time in public schools, supporting students' academic and social-emotional growth. In this education-focused role, you'll provide tutoring, mentor students, assist in classrooms, and lead small-group interventions. You'll collaborate with school staff and a diverse team to create a positive learning environment. City Year offers comprehensive training, leadership development, and exposure to education and youth development careers in a mission-driven, inclusive culture dedicated to advancing educational equity. Provide one-on-one and small group academic tutoring to students Support teachers with classroom management and instruction Lead or assist with after-school programs and enrichment activities Build positive relationships with students to support social-emotional growth Track and report student progress and attendance data Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and teammates on student support plans Participate in ongoing training, coaching, and professional development Engage families and community partners as appropriate Promote a positive, inclusive school climate Model leadership, service, and City Year core values Student tutoring and academic support Classroom support and management Data tracking and basic reporting Youth mentorship and relationship-building Lesson and activity planning Communication (verbal and written) Collaboration and teamwork Time management and organization Basic educational technology tools Cultural competence and sensitivity Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance Eligibility to serve as an AmeriCorps member U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident Ability to pass background checks Commitment to a full-time service term
