Cascade Tutoring Center | Bend, Oregon Part-Time W-2 Position | $25-$30/hour, depending on experience | In-Person Cascade Tutoring Center is looking for an energetic, relationship-driven tutor who can support students across a range of grade levels and academic subjects. We are especially interested in candidates who are confident supporting high-school mathematics through Algebra II, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, or beyond , though advanced math experience is not required for an exceptional candidate. We are a relationship-based tutoring center focused on helping students thrive. We meet students wherever they are academically, build genuine connections, and help them develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need to succeed. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with kids and teenagers, brings positive energy, and knows how to coach students through frustration and challenges—not simply give them answers. What You'll Do Tutor students one-on-one and in small groups Support students across elementary, middle, and high school Provide instruction in math, English, reading, writing, and other subjects within your area of expertise Adapt explanations and instruction to individual student needs Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families Help students improve confidence, organization, study habits, and independence Write clear session notes and provide brief parent updates Collaborate with other tutors and staff around student progress Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development What We're Looking For Strong academic content knowledge Confidence working with children and teenagers A genuine love for helping students grow High energy, warmth, patience, and strong communication skills The ability to explain concepts in multiple ways A coaching mindset that encourages students to think, persist, and become more independent Reliability and consistent weekly availability Openness to feedback, collaboration, and continued learning Previous teaching or tutoring experience is helpful but not required. College students, recent graduates, teachers, paraprofessionals, coaches, youth-program staff, and career changers are encouraged to apply. Academic Background Candidates should be able to confidently support students in at least several of the following areas.
