At least 2 hours on 2 days a week will be required, though more hours can be expected as a semester progresses. Our school year hours see most of our tutoring between the hours of 4:00 and 8:00 pm on weekdays, plus 10:00-6:00 on Saturdays. A tutor may choose consistent "chunks" of time within those overall hours. Tutors should maintain consistent hours week to week because our tutors assist the same students each time. In this role, you will deliver 1:1, personalized tutoring sessions, helping middle and high school students master advanced topics such as calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, geometry, and statistics. SAT/ACT Math tutoring will definitely be required, but Pierce Institute will provide paid training to get tutors comfortable with the particulars of the updated tests. Responsibilities Students typically come in with work; you will assist them with that work Some students need supplemental materials to help them master foundational skills before they are ready to approach other assignments; you will help make that determination and help provide supplmental materials (of which we have plenty) Provide structure, appropriate strategies, and plenty of patience for students identified with learning differences Track student progress regularly, adjusting teaching strategies to maximize understanding and retention Requirements Tutoring experience Candidate must be local and have reliable transportation as most of the tutoring will happen in person at our center in Southwest Fort Worth. Strong knowledge of advanced mathematics topics Familiarity with lesson planning tailored to diverse learner needs Proficiency with online instruction tools and learning technology platforms to facilitate remote teaching sessions (for the occasional Zoom student, though most sessions are in-person at our center) Excellent communication skills to clearly explain complex concepts and motivate students Strong computer skills Join us as an Advanced Math Tutor and make a meaningful difference by helping students unlock their full potential in mathematics!
