Job Description
Classroom Tutor (Part-Time) Heritage Christian Tutorial (HCT) Lexington Park, MD 2026-2027 School Year Position Summary Heritage Christian Tutorial (HCT) is seeking Christ-centered educators to serve as Classroom Tutors in our hybrid homeschool program for the 2026-2027 school year. HCT partners with homeschooling families by providing a structured, Biblically based classroom experience two days per week while parents remain the primary educators at home. Tutors are responsible for leading engaging classroom instruction, fostering positive student relationships, and supporting students' academic and character development. Available Positions Kindergarten Tutor 1st Grade Tutor 2nd Grade Tutor Subject Tutors (Grades 3-8) Classroom Aide Responsibilities Lead classroom instruction in accordance with provided curriculum and lesson plans Facilitate hands-on learning activities and student discussions Create a positive, organized, and Christ-centered classroom environment Encourage student growth academically, socially, and spiritually Communicate professionally with HCT leadership and families Monitor student progress and provide feedback as needed Participate in staff meetings, training, and school events as requested Qualifications Demonstrates a personal Christian faith and agreement with HCT's mission and values Experience working with children in an educational, ministry, or childcare setting Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage a classroom effectively Teaching certification is not required Schedule Two in-person teaching days per week Approximately 60-90 minutes of planning per teaching day Follows the HCT academic calendar for the 2026-2027 school year Why Join HCT?
